Austin TX - The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration is conducting an audit of the program that issues individual tax identification numbers or ITINs ...  KEYE TV talked to a tax examiner at the IRS processing center in Austin who told us he's seen thousands of people use what he suspects are fake documents to get ITIN numbers and collect tax refunds ... He even researched schools listed on documents to prove dependents had attended school in the U.S. ...  Antelis says some schools didn't even exist, "They're basically inventing people so they can get the $1000 dollar per child tax credit" ...
