"No Borders! No Nations! No Deportations!" "Abolish ICE!"

Before last week, these were the mindless slogans of an infantile left, seen on signs at rallies to abolish ICE, the agency that arrests and deports criminal aliens who have no right to be in our country.

By last week, however, "Abolish ICE!" was no longer the exclusive slogan of the unhinged left. National Democrats were signing on....

But liberal elites making fools of themselves is a less serious matter than the savage slanders Democrats are hurling at the 20,000 men and women of ICE who are daily protecting us and our country.

ICE, after all, was established to prevent another 9/11, when real terrorists, some of whom had overstayed their visas, massacred 3,000 innocent people, most of them Americans....

The issue of 2018: Should we, or should we not, abolish ICE and embrace the progressive alternative of open borders?

CAIRCO Notes

Although voters have short memories, it's likely that in November elections, they won't forget that the loony Democrat left wants to abolish ICE and border security.

"Abolish ICE" Zealots Occupy Fantasy Island, Michelle Malkin, VDare, June 26, 2018:

... Reps. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., Jim McGovern, D- Mass., Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., and nearly 20 Democratic congressional candidates have all called for eliminating ICE. Boston-area Democratic congressional candidate Ayanna Pressley (right) wants to defund ICE because it's an "existential threat" to "immigrant communities."

And New York actress-turned-Democratic gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon declared that "ICE is a terrorist organization."...

So, how exactly do these ICE-melters propose to deal with criminal alien fugitives, such as the estimated 300,000 deportation absconders who've been ordered by immigration judges to leave the country?

How about the 40 percent of illegal aliens, from the pool of between 11 million and 30 million immigration law-breakers, who overstayed their visas and are on the loose doing heaven knows what?

And when will these noble 21st-century abolitionists be stepping up to open their homes to the members of the ICE Most Wanted list, which includes illegal aliens wanted for murder, aggravated homicide, narcotics and human trafficking, and membership in terrorist organizations?...

The Democratic Party Is Killing Itself, Ian Henderson, American Greatness, July 3, 2018:

... The Democratic Party has redoubled its embrace of identity politics. Whether it be Mexican-American, African-American, Chinese-American, Muslim-American or any of the two-dozen hyphenated American groups out there, these ethno-religious-cultural groups have by and large used the Democratic Party to further their group interests. ...

As America’s non-Hispanic White population shrinks due to the influx of non-European immigration and low white birth rates, cultural enclaves have begun to form all over the nation. Starting in the late 1960s and accelerating over the past decade, the Democratic Party has  abandoned its traditional base of working-class white voters to embrace minority immigrant groups. Although this has boded well for them in places like California, it won’t last. ...

The red shift didn’t occur because people suddenly became Koch brothers-loving investors who want to grow their portfolio and bring in cheap foreign labor. It’s because the Republican Party is changing to reflect the interests of the white working class in these states. ...

In its arrogance, the Democratic Party’s leadership has failed to see that promoting a “diverse” and “multicultural” society to people who don’t believe in multiculturalism or diversity is utterly suicidal. Chinese, Arabs, Indians and Mexicans are deeply conservative identitarian groups that as a whole have no interest in compromising their cultures, traditions, or ways of life. Throwing them all together and expecting a kumbaya moment is foolish and betrays a profound misunderstanding of these cultures. It is quite ironic how the Democratic Party, in all of its arrogance changed its platform in an attempt to gain more power only to have it be their undoing.

The Mask Comes Off the Open Borders Movement, Kris W. Kobach, Breitbart, July 3, 2018:

... For many years, we who have fought for stronger enforcement of our immigration laws have criticized the so-called “open borders movement.” The expression was a useful shorthand phrase to describe those who favor a lax-enforcement, pro-amnesty position. It was an exaggeration to make a point. Now we find out that it wasn’t an exaggeration at all. They really do want open borders....

Many of these Democrats calling for the abolition of ICE don’t realize just how crazy they sound. And they apparently have no idea that the vast majority of Americans would like the United States to remain a sovereign nation that has the power to decide who is, and who is not, permitted to enter the country.

There was a similar moment in 2006 when the open borders movement let its guard down and gave us a glimpse of what they really are all about. Hundreds of thousands of protesters marched in opposition to immigration enforcement in Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Denver, carrying Mexican flags. Protest organizers realized that the Mexican flags were turning off the broader public. So they instructed the protesters to carry American flags.

But we briefly saw what was animating their movement — a disdain for the United States and a preference for another country.

Now too, the open borders movement has taken off the mask. We see what their ultimate objective is — an end to deportations, and an end to immigration enforcement.

It’s not a pretty picture. But at least American voters are getting to see it before they go to the polls this Fall.
