Nov. 1995 COLD CASES
Nov. 1995 - The bodies of Nguyen, 21, Le, 20, and Do were discovered in Do’s apartment ... Each of the bodies were found in different rooms. They were all shot to death. All three victims were Vietnamese immigrants.
Lakewood police said that they ruled out the possibility that the murders were tied to drug or gang involvement.
According to a story at the time in The Denver Post by Marilyn Robinson and Angela Cortez, Nguyen had been estranged from her family for almost a year because of her romantic ties with Le ... One possible reason the family didn’t approve of Le was because his family was Catholic and hers was Buddhist, according to family members.
“When (Thuy) ran away, the parents felt it was a shame on the family,” Quang Nguyen said. “They blamed the boy, who they said seduced that girl and took her away from the home. She did not graduate, which is one of the most important things for Vietnamese immigrants to do. It is one of the reasons they are here, to obtain a good education. Yes, they were shamed and disappointed.”
Anyone with information that could held solve the case is asked to called the Lakewood Police Department at 303-987-7111.
