Senate Bill 13-251, The Colorado Road and Community Safety Act authorizes the issuance of a Colorado driver’s license, instruction permit or identification card to those individuals who either cannot demonstrate lawful presence in the U.S. or can only demonstrate temporary lawful presence in the U.S. beginning August 1, 2014.  The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will be conducting workshops in July, August, and September to assist our customers (schedule is below).

For those unable to demonstrate lawful presence in the U.S.:
As of July 1, 2014, appointments can be made starting in August on the DMV web site or by calling 303-205-2335.  We are receiving higher than normal call volumes at this time. We appreciate your patience.

For those who are unable to demonstrate lawful presence, this program will be rolled out by appointment only and in five offices around the state to ensure that customers will receive service by employees trained in the new processes and procedures.  When scheduling your SB251 appointment , please click the orange button.
