Federal agents will begin to leave Minneapolis... and Minnesota authorities still refuse to cooperate with federal agents to uphold the constitutionally valid immigration laws of this country. It seems that...Trump lost his spine and decided to cave to the unfolding chaos in Minneapolis as well as the Democrats who engineered it...

He has signaled that Democrats can defy federal law any time they want and foment violent opposition in the streets to its enforcement by federal agents, and for their trouble, they'll get a deal from the president...

Trump's apparent capitulation stands in stark contrast to Andrew Jackson's stern resoluteness during the Nullification Crisis of 1832, in which a single state defiantly flouted federal law until it was cowed by shrewd politicking and the threat of federal force...

You can't have a federalist union if every state gets to pick and choose which federal laws it has to follow...

We now stand at an inflection point for the country as dangerous as the secession crisis of 1860. Then, President James Buchanan's indecisiveness led the country into a catastrophic civil war...

Just as it did one hundred and sixty-five years ago, the Democrat Party appears to be making war against the federal government.

Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz have identified tens of billions of dollars in welfare fraud flowing through the Democrat-controlled state of Minnesota.

The public is slowly learning that members of the state's substantial population of Somali immigrants have been abusing state and federal programs to enrich themselves at the expense of American taxpayers...

The idea that immigrants from across the world could arrive in Minnesota and figure out how to manipulate the existing bureaucracy to orchestrate large-scale fraud is unconvincing... We are looking at a government-orchestrated criminal syndicate...

Whether Democrat Party officials are backing an insurgent force on the streets of Minneapolis to distract from their own complicity in a multi-billion-dollar fraud operation, we don't yet know. But Democrats do appear to believe that Minnesota can ignore federal law and threaten federal agents with impunity. That smacks of rebellion and secession and cannot be permitted.

Minnesota's defiance of federal immigration law echoes pre–Fort Sumter nullification, forcing Trump to choose between enforcement and letting blue states slide toward open rebellion...

But after Fort Sumter [April 12, 1861], Lincoln... gained a consensus that the Constitution had no clauses about any lawful departure from the union...

Once sanctuary states, cities, and counties had established the precedent that, with impunity, they could nullify federal immigration law, then what followed was a logical and mounting descent into the current open defiance of the federal government...

So for the Minnesota state officials, screaming for ICE "to get the f**k out of Minnesota"... is a reminder that the Democratic Party wants a safe place for illegal immigration, the fuel of a future dependent constituency - as the architecture of the recent massive Somali frauds attests...

They also believe that the more turmoil, the more violence, the more resistance, and the more a general sense of chaos and unrest swirl around the Trump administration, the more they can drive down its popularity before the midterms...

For now, Walz, Frey, and Ellison are... talking openly about how best to nullify federal law and impede federal enforcement...
