A problem in paperwork by immigration agents could lead to a halt in deportation proceedings against hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants in Colorado and around the country. The issue comes after a recent U.S. Supreme court case....

CBS4 investigator Rick Sallinger spoke with one woman who is hoping this will clear the way for her to stay in Denver with her son.

Her name is Alma. Facing deportation, she asked that we not show her face.

She, like virtually every other immigrant who entered this country illegally and was taken into custody, she was given an order to appear in court. But those orders did not list a specific date and time....

Since arrested by ICE agents, Alma has been fighting the return to Mexico.

Through an interpreter she said, “I want to continue here because it offers my son a better future.”...

The cases of some 733,000 people facing deportation could potentially be affected by the Supreme Court decision including Alma who fought back tears....

CAIRCO Notes

We could not help but notice the obvious degeneration of this mainstream media story, beginning with the second paragraph - that is, the human interest hook. The second paragraph delves into the story of a particular woman who may not be allowed to stay with her son.

Why not? the reader might ask. Well, it turns out that she is an illegal alien - not a legal immigrant - who might be deported. But because of a procedural screw-up, she, and thousands of other illegal aliens may be allowed to remain in America and mooch off taxpaying Americans.

Oh, and what about her son? There are three possibilities regarding his immigration status:

1. At the age of majority, he applied to immigrate to America and was accepted and legally naturalized. The probablity of this scenario approaches zero. He's undoubtedly not that old.

2. He was born in Mexico and was brought illegally as a child into America by his mother. In this case, he, too, is an illegal alien and should be returned home with his mother. This is the most likely scenario, based upon the alien's statements.

3. He was born by his illegal alien mother as an Anchor Baby due to a misinterpretation of the 14th Amendment. In this case, he would certainly be able to visit mamma in her home country any time he wished.

The red herring issue being pressed by the mainstream leftist media is family separation. As an economic migrant, the alien snuck into America and got caught. Now the leftist mainstream media is whining that sadistic ICE may separate her from her offspring - when in fact, both the alien and offspring can return to their home country together.
