A political science professor at Metro State University in Denver says although President-Elect Donald Trump will need Congressional approval for some of his goals, he can deliver a number of promises with a stroke of a pen ...

Trump’s planned crackdown on illegal immigration could become a reality.

“Up to a point, presidents do have considerable say,” said Metro State Political Science Professor Norm Proviser.

Proviser told CBS4 Political Specialist Shaun Boyd that Trump can rescind Obama’s Executive Order [Correction: Professor means Executive Action] shielding children brought here illegally from deportation.

“Anything that’s an executive agreement can change with the executive,” said Proviser ...

CAIRCO Comment: One would think a Political Science professor would know the major legal differences between an Executive Order and an Executive Action. This is important as Metro State was the first college to offer instate tuition and education to illegal alien students, thus breaking then-state law in Colorado.  We hope the professor is not teaching his illegal alien students the wrong information, thus further confusing them on Presidential actions and what rights by executive action these students have, and in this particular case, do not have.

What do Donald Trump's first 100 days in office look like?, CBS News, November 11, 2016

* On national security and the “constitutional rule of law,” Trump’s plans focus broadly on canceling every executive action taken by President Obama, including immigration, and he’ll also focus on the Supreme Court. Trump would cut off federal funding for “sanctuary cities,” deport criminal illegal aliens, and institute a ban on immigrant from “terror-prone regions” of the world...

Here’s a breakdown of what he would tackle:

  • Enact middle-class tax cuts
  • Institute tariffs on companies offshoring jobs
  • Eliminate Common Core education standards
  • Repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act
  • Enact his proposals on childcare
  • Tackle illegal immigration by building a wall and jailing undocumented immigrants
  • Beef up federal law enforcement agencies and reduce crime, drugs and violence
  • Support the military and eliminate the defense sequester
