Police State

In case you don't remember - or did not know, Dinesh D'Souza was politically persecuted by a leftist Democrat judge. While his extreme and unusual sentencing was arguably intended to silence him, D'Souza has continued to produce relevant documentary films, including:

I just watched Dinesh D'Souza's most recent documentary, Police State. It was well worth the cost to stream the movie, and I would sincerely encourage others to do so. It's also available in DVD format.

Reviews of Police State

Dinesh D'Souza’s Police State: I was literally shaking, by Andrea Widburg, American thinker, 24 October 2023:

Why is the movie so powerful? Because using a combination of reenactments, interviews, news footage, police body cams, and individuals' security cameras, D'Souza has compellingly put together things we already know about America in 2023 but don't want to admit: We have in place a government that is loyal, not to the people but to the government itself.

Our government, especially its security apparatus (aided and abetted through its partnership with Big Tech), has become a separate entity from the American people, and its most powerful members have as their sole responsibility to ensure their continued existence. For them, the Democrat party and the Uniparty are their rock, their fortress, their deliverer, their shield, their salvation, and their stronghold. Anyone who threatens that - and Trump and his supporters did and do - must be destroyed...

What was most powerful for me, though, was the interviews with myriad people, whether conservative thinkers or those who found themselves in the government's crosshairs. The thinkers include Dan Bongino (one of the executive producers), Julie Kelly, Peter Schweizer, Rand Paul, Jim Jordan, Darren Beattie, Troy Nehls, and Kash Patel.

Others whom D’Souza interviews are Yeonmi Park, who escaped North Korea only to find the same mindset, plus transgender madness, in academia; government whistleblowers like Kyle Seraphin and Steve Friend; Big Tech whistleblowers whose names I missed; and ordinary people such as Mark Houck, the subject of a full FBI raid for shoving an abortion clinic worker aggressively harassing his 13-year-old son, Joseph Bolanos, whose entire life was destroyed when he experienced the full FBI raid for standing on the Capitol grounds, a mom raided for speaking out at a school board meeting, and Matthew Pern's aunt...

Dinesh D'Souza's frightening 'Police State' needs to be seen, by Steve Baker, 27 October 2023:

Promoting his latest release, Dinesh '’Souza said, "'Police State' is a movie that I never wanted to make, because I never wanted America to get to a point where a movie like this needed to be made."

"Our police state is in camouflage," the writer-director elaborated during a recent appearance on "The Glenn Beck Program." "It's not open about its motives. It marches behind the banner of saving democracy."

Released in cinemas early this week and online this weekend, "Police State" is a film of high production values worth seeing on the big screen. More importantly, it is a film that should be seen by more than just the right-wing choir. Most of us already know the lyrics to that songbook, but maybe this film will motivate us to sing more loudly...

'Perfect Timing': D'Souza's Latest Film Comes After Shocking New Report About the FBI Released, by Leah Barkoukis, Townhall, 5 October 2023:

The film, set to premier Oct. 23-27, has appearances from familiar faces, such as Dan Bongino, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), author Peter Schweizer, and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), and argues federal organizations have been corrupted to the point that they’re selectively and unfairly targeting Christians and those on the political right...

After sharing a trailer for the movie, many commented that it couldn’t have come at a better time. Why? A new report dropped this week about how the FBI is planning to target Trump supporters ahead of the 2024 presidential election....

... according to Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, the police state "isn't coming, it's already here."...

It's '1984' all over again in Biden's 'Police State', by Miranda Devine, New York Post, 15 October 2023:

D'Souza's contention is that America is in danger of turning into a police state, an opaque and woke version of the authoritarian regimes in China or North Korea - and a recent Rasmussen poll shows that more than two-thirds of Americans agree...

The film is at its most harrowing when D'Souza interviews victims of this brutal new regime, which seems to be more about investigating pre-crime and crushing dissent than punishing the guilty or protecting the innocent...

FBI Whistleblowers Urge Americans to Watch New 'Police State' Film, by Catherine Salgado, PJ Media, 27 October 2023:

Dinesh D'Souza's new movie "Police State" premiered this week, and two FBI whistleblowers featured in the film are urging Americans from all political viewpoints to watch the movie and "understand how broken our system has become."...
