On immigration, Trump said any deal on illegal immigrants who were brought to the United States as children could be tied with an end to "chain migration," the term used to describe citizens or permanent residents sponsoring members of their extended family to come to the U.S, who then sponsor members of their extended families. The practice has caused the number of foreign-born people in the United States to balloon. Trump wants to end it.
