Rigged: new book on how Democrats, media, and Big Tech seized our elections

We are a year overdue for the true story of the 2020 elections. Mollie Hemingway has at last delivered it to us in one tidy volume.

It’s a complex story, which makes for a weighty book. The research is thorough, the writing is evidentiary, the style is clinical—like investigative journalism and social science used to be. The endnotes alone run nearly 100 pages.

Reading Rigged, one isn’t jarred by hyperbole, conjecture, or spin. Hemingway is unequivocal on progressive malice, yet she can be scathing of Republicans, too....

Overall, the story reads like a tragedy. One alternates between anger and consternation that bleeding obvious facts were not reported by the mainstream media at the time....

As Hemingway shows in the book’s opening pages, the theft of an election is a long time in the making, and incorporates many efforts other than ballot rigging. This is the strength of the book: she starts the narrative by detailing the flaws in early American elections that would be reinstituted in 2020....

The progressives’ champions were funded by tech oligarchs and promoted by the mainstream media. Even Republican state officials colluded....

For the 2020 general election, 39 states modified their election laws or procedures....

All of this adds up to a targeted campaign to undermine election integrity in the 2020 elections. Across several states, with the help of numerous friendly institutions, the Democratic Party was able to change the way America votes, and manipulate how those votes were counted... Next time someone caricatures evidence of voting irregularities as a conspiracy theory, throw the book at them—Mollie Hemingway’s book....

... It was a most unusual election. Double the number of mail-in ballots as 2016. Half as many voting on Election Day (60% in 2016, 28% in 2020). Half the margin of victory — slim in 2016, slimmer in 2020. The 2016 election came down to 80K votes in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The 2020 election came down to less than 43K votes in Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin....

That’s why I so appreciate Mollie Hemingway’s new book, Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections. It’s long: 332 pages of text. It’s meaty: 85 pages of references. It’s holistic, looking at the big picture — not just the voting machines on election day — and putting recent events in a historical context. Rigged doesn’t refer mainly to the voting, but to the entire process. It’s an engaging and insightful book. When necessary, the technicalities are explained clearly and carefully.

For example, how COVID was used to bring in sweeping changes to the voting process — changes Democrats had been seeking for years but hadn’t been able to accomplish. How Google, Facebook, and Twitter suppressed conservative story lines, labeling them as misinformation, dangerous, or racist. How a huge influx in cash was used not just in the battle for public opinion — that’s fine — but to embed partisan actors into the election administration process. Rigged has ten long chapters. Space will constrain me to the two that really stood out.

Censorship and the Killing of an October Surprise 

... They found that Google search listing dramatically reduced exposure to right-leaning news sites like Breitbart, Daily Caller, and the Federalist. (And yes, The Stream.)...

But still, the killing of the October 2020 Hunter Biden laptop story was surprising in terms of the scope of suppression....

The Private Takeover of Government Election Offices

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative gave $419 million to nonprofit groups that would exercise unprecedented influence on the election. These “Zuck Bucks” were funneled through the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) and the Center for Election Innovation and Research, both run by activist Democrats....

... As the Trump era dawned, however, media coverage moved from biased to outright propaganda.

Corporate media went from picking left-friendly frames and omitting facts that reinforced right-leaning views about public affairs, as Groseclose documented in 2012, to outright mass hoaxing of voters by 2016. ...

While I work with Mollie and am highly aware of media corruption since it’s our bread and butter here at The Federalist, she still had many surprises for me inside “Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections.” Here I’ll share a few things she reports in the book that made me gasp out loud.

1. The DNC Controlled All Poll Watchers for 40 Years

I had to read this section of the book two or three times to absorb what it was saying. I couldn’t believe it could possibly be true. Yet it is...

2. Lazy Voting Biases Elections Towards Democrats

... This means long election seasons, mail-in balloting, and loose ballot behavior such as mailing millions and opening dropboxes all tilt elections towards Democrats....

3. Facebook Bought Joe Biden the Election

... Hemingway notes that Facebook executives have boasted that they can shut off 80 percent of the traffic to any link they want. Facebook and Google blacklisting of conservative news sites such as The Federalist, The Daily Caller, and Breitbart has been documented since 2017.

Atop this were what’s been termed “Zuck Bucks,” the nearly half a billion dollars Zuckerberg gave to essentially fund a shadow elections system that again structurally advantaged Democrats....

... after you read Mollie’s book, you will come away with the inescapable conclusion that Trump was right when he called corporate media “the enemy of the people.”...

7. Mail-In Balloting Is More Outrageous Than Anyone Can Imagine

“Up to a quarter of a million votes were cast in Wisconsin’s presidential election without any identification check at all,” Mollie writes on page 66...

... For some Democrats, the effort was the culmination of a drive to bring down Donald Trump that began well before he took office. And for no Democrat was that more true than Washington lawyer Marc Elias.

What is really extraordinary, as Hemingway points out, is that one man, Elias, was responsible for both the Steele dossier, which was the covert Democratic disinformation operation designed to bring down Trump during the 2016 campaign, and those wide-ranging changes in state election procedures, designed to make sure he did not win reelection in 2020....

The dossier was one of the most successful dirty tricks ever....

Mollie Hemingway’s explosive new book, Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections, details how a mismanaged election in Fulton County, a corrupt and incompetent Secretary of State’s office, millions of dollars from Mark Zuckerberg-backed nonprofits, and more than 10,000 illegal votes provide compelling evidence for a person to question the legitimacy of Joe Biden’s narrow victory in Georgia over Donald Trump in the November 2020 election.

Mollie Hemingway has written a blockbuster book about all the strands of deception and falsehoods that converged to take down Donald Trump on Nov. 3 and 4 and beyond (and before), in her book: Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections... The total number of endnotes is 1,243 (I added them up), many having extensive commentaries. Only a large and excellent team of researchers could put together a book like this...

Hemingway’s conclusion: It is clear that the Dem Party have followed a pattern of cheating, inch by inch, for a long time....

The evidence can be boiled down as follows. Trump won a fair election on Nov. 3, but lost a fraudulent one late on Nov. 3 (about 22:00) and on to Nov. 4 and beyond, in some important Electoral College states. The Dems believed their own (fake) polling data that had said Trump was far behind. But they were shocked when they saw that he was about to win by a huge margin in those states. No matter. That's when they went to Plan B and did their dirty work, in the early hours.

Instead of calling the election for Trump, the Dems, with their allies in the lying media, unprecedentedly stopped the normal vote count "coincidentally" around the same time in some of those states, sent the monitors home, and in the late hours illegally rammed through numerous lopsided ballots (a "surge"), favoring Basement Biden, such that he "won" by 10,000 to 30,000 votes, on Nov. 4+ in the targeted Electoral College States....

Over the next decade or two, the Dems plan to flip red states blue by their methods.  They have been doing this in carefully selected states already, over several election cycles....

A major solution for the GOP is to win back the office of the secretary of state, which would counter the Dem strategy of taking over this office from the middle of the 2000s. Another solution, which is hugely popular among the voters, is to insist on voter ID. Also, mail-in ballots must be eliminated or curtailed....

Of course, buy the book. It may wake you up and cause you to fight for our beloved Republic. Hemingway and her excellent team have sounded the battle trumpet and provided us with ammunition with this heavily end-noted book. Kudos to them....
